Born June 5, 1899 in LaCrosse, LaCrosse County, Wisconsin.
Died August 20, 1984 in Naperville, DuPage County, Illinois.
Draftsman, Furniture Designer, and Treasurer for Kroehler Manufacturing Company.
He served Euclid Lodge as Senior Warden in 1931 and 1932, as Junior Warden in 1930, as Treasurer in 1935 through 1974 (40 years!!), as Senior Deacon in 1929, as Junior Deacon in 1928, and as Junior Steward in 1927.

Walter E. Houghton
Walter E. Houghton, 85, of 11 N. Columbia St., a long-time Naperville resident, died Monday, Aug. 20, 1984, at the Community Convalescent Center of Naperville. He was born June 5, 1899, in LaCrosse, Wis.
Mr. Houghton was a retired supervisor of drafting from the Kroehler Mfg. Co., where he worked for 39 years.
He was a member of Euclid Lodge No. 65, A.F. & A.M., and a Master Mason for 50 years. He was a past master and treasurer for 40 years. He was a Royal Arch Mason, R.A.M., of Euclid Chapter 13. He was a charter member of the Naperville Congregational Church.
Surviving are his wife Mabel (nee Rau); one son, Walter E. Houghton Jr., and his wife, Rosalie of Denver, Co.; and two grandchildren, Gary Edward and Margaret Esther Houghton.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Naperville Congregational Church, with the Rev. Donald Limmer officiating.
