Died April 3, 1940, in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.
Occupation, Jeweler.
He also served Euclid Lodge as Senior Warden in 1908, as Junior Warden in 1906, and as Senior Deacon in 1904.
He served Euclid Chapter No. 13, R.A.M. as High Priest in 1912 and 1913.

Newton J. Wagner, a former resident of Naperville, died suddenly early Wednesday morning, at Flint, Mich., where he had been employed as guide at the Buick automobile plant.
His wife, Sadie Wagner of Flint, and a sister, Mrs. Eli Stark of Naperville survive him.
Funeral services will be held at the Arthur Beidelman chapel, Naperville, on Saturday afternoon, April 6, at 2:30 o'clock.
Euclid Lodge No. 65, A.F. & A.M., of which Mr. Wagner was a member, will have charge of the service. Rev. M. L. Haehlen will be the officiating clergyman. Interment will be at the Naperville cemetery.

Newton J. Wagner was born January 12, 1871, at Naperville, Ill. and passed to his eternal home on Wednesday, April 3, 1940, at his home in Flint, Mich., at the age of 69 years and three months.
Mr. Wagner was raised in Naperville, where he attended the public schools and became well known through his active and enthusiastic spirit. During these years he was a regular attendant at the Grace Church Sunday School and was a charter member of the Baraca Sunday school class. He early became interested in the work of the Masonic Lodge and had the unusual distinction of being a 33rd Degree Mason. For the past 21 years he has lived in Flint, Mich., where he has worked for the Buick company, and in recent years has been a guide showing visitors through the plant.
Today there mourn the passing of this one, Mrs. Linnie Stark (sister) of Naperville, his wife, Mrs. Sadie Wagner, his stepson, Jack Belstan, of Flint, Mich., together with many more distant relatives and a great host of friends both in Flint and in Naperville.
Funeral services were held Friday at Flint and Saturday at Naperville, with the Rev. M. L. Haehlen officiating, with Masonic rites at the grave.
