From The East
May
2007
Brethren of Euclid Lodge, Greetings,
Another event filled month has passed us by. And the remainder of May does not appear to be suggesting a slow down in the schedule.
First, as of today, May 13th, 2007, and going back about 30 days or so, Euclid has been involved in several events.
On April 2nd, we participated in and won the district level Lodge Officer’s competition.
On April 16th, Euclid held an open Lodge event, wherein those in attendance were treated to an educational presentation on the life and times of Benjamin Franklin. The performer, a Ben Franklin look-alike from HFK Presents was fabulous. At the completion of the show, you walked out with a feeling that you had just been in the presence of history.
On April 28th, we participated in and won the area level Lodge Officer’s competition. As of this writing, we have not yet received any correspondence as to the Lodge who won the State. We are hopeful. But, whether we open at Grand Lodge in October or not, the officer’s of Euclid Lodge purposefully demonstrated a love for the Arts, Parts, and Points of Masonry, and for our Lodge in particular.
On May 5th, a group of Brother’s from Euclid, under the directorship of Brother’s Diamond, Ory, and Rosenweig attended an IL CHiP Training Program in Lombard. Brother’s Diamond, Ory, and Rosenweig have not only secured a venue to host our own IL CHiP event, they have managed to secure the endorsements of Naperville Mayor George Pradel, and the Naperville Police Department.
To provide assistance to the Brother’s of Lombard Lodge, and to further hone their skills for our own event, several Brother’s from Euclid attended the Lombard Lodge Hosted IL CHiP program on May 12th. My understanding is that it was a huge success.
On May 11th, a group of 10 Brother’s from Euclid attended the Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity fund raiser event, held at the Morten Arboretum. Because the Naperville Masonic Temple Board had made a donation to this organization, we received an invitation to attend. It was a delightful event. If any of the Brother’s would like to volunteer a day out of their lives to assist this worthy organization, Brother Jerry Yingling has the updated information for the next Build Out in Montgomery.
We will be initiating 5 new candidates and awarding a 50 year membership pin on May 15th. One of the candidates is the Grandson of the 50 year pin recipient. This should be a fun night.
May 20th, is the District Breakfast. Wheaton Lodge always puts on a great spread. If you are interested in attending, the 14th & 15th District Breakfast is held on the 3rd Sunday of the Month at Wheaton Lodge from 7:00 am to 8:00 am.
Following the Business Meeting on June 5th, Euclid Lodge # 65, and Euclid Chapter # 13 will be honoring the Past High Priests of Euclid Chapter # 13 with a presentation by Brother James Patton. Brother’s you will not want to miss this.
Until next Month, anything on your table, Brother Secretary.
