From The East

April 2007

Brethren of Euclid Lodge, Greetings.

The latter part of February and the first part of March have kept us on our toes at Euclid.   On February 16th our Academic Bowl sponsored school, Naperville North, competed in the finals, and although they didn’t take home the crown, they did finish very strong and made an impressive showing. They are to be commended for their hard work.

On February 20th, Kevin Cassidy was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, and became a member of our Lodge. Thanks to all of the Brother’s who put in their time on the practice field, the degree was conferred very smoothly, and Brother Cassidy said he felt honored to be part of a Lodge who put forth such an effort to make him feel a part of  the membership. Worshipful Brother Jim Sleith gave the Bible Presentation as only he can, which always makes the evening just that much more special.

On Tuesday, March 7th, we had our Stated meeting. Among the common course of events, we received three new petitions for degrees, and balloted on two others. We did a not so short reading on the life and times of Hiram Abiff, and we participated in the Eureka Challenge. Brothers’ I’m not sure but I think we did very well with our time and correctness of the answers.

On March  10th, four Brother’s from Euclid drove to Westchester and attended the Grand Lodge Officers School of Instruction at Old Glory Lodge # 114. It was a packed house, and well worth the ride.

Our date for the Lodge Officer’s competition has been moved to April 2nd, for the District level. For all of you who rearranged your schedules to make this possible, Thank you very much.

.

Lastly Brother’s of Euclid, don’t forget about the poker party on March 17th, at Brother Mike Ault’s house. Until next month…

Anything on your table, Brother Secretary?
